- Titanic Centenary
Harold Lowe Sunday April 15th
Barmouth marks the heroic actions of Titanic Fifth Officer Harold Lowe with the unveiling of a plaque on the harbour. Other events possible, see website for further details. Mawddach Paddlesports Festival
Sat & Sun 26th - 27th May
Two days of Canoe, Kayak and Celtic Longboat Events & Challenges for all the family. All taking place in the dramatic setting of Barmouth Harbour and Mawddach Estuary. Includes: Quayside Demonstrations, Kayak Events, Open Canoe Raft Races, Supervised Paddle & Paddler Development Sessions, Trade Stands and Saturday Evening BBQ Party - plenty of fun things to do and see for all ages.

- Fairbourne Railway 'Little to Large', Steam Engines in Action!

Friday & Saturday 15th & 16th June
A continental market comes to Barmouth for the first time for the 2012 'Three Peaks' weekend (see below). The market features stalls from a range of different European countries, with stallholders in traditional costume giving the opportunity to try and buy the flavours of their continental produce. www.traditionalmarket.co.uk - Barmouth to Fort William Three Peaks Yacht Race
Saturday 16th June
Race start in Barmouth is preceded by a procession of the yachts from the harbour (6pm) to the start line off shore, with many events, stalls and music on the quayside to entertain the onlookers plus the Continental Market in town. The race proceeds to Caernarfon where two crew members race to the summit of Snowdon, then on to Whitehaven for the ascent of Scafell Pike, finally to Fort William and Ben Nevis.

Barmouth Arts Festival
3rd - 10th September
Taking place mainly in the Dragon Theatre, the programme is a mix of classical and popular entertainment including professional and local artists in music concerts and drama productions, plus exhibitions.

Sat 15th - Mon 24th September
Participants return year after year to enjoy up to ten days of guided walks around the Mawddach Estuary & Southern Snowdonia. In 2011 over 100 walkers completed approximately 350 walks over the course of the festival. There are walks for all abilities - led by knowledgeable local guides - ranging from short two hour rambles to full day, high level hikes, taking place in some of the finest walking countryside in Wales.
