Eating and Drinking

No vacation is complete without some memorable food, but memories can be made in all manner of ways.

One of the joys of being on holiday is relaxing over a coffee or lunch at an outdoor table with a stunning view and frankly it doesn’t get much better than the view from the harbour. Why not take time out and enjoy a slower pace of life with a cappuccino at one of the harbour-side cafés or restaurants?

Every few yards on the High Street there’s somewhere to tempt you. Many cafés feature local Welsh dishes on their menus or delicious homemade cakes; perfect after a bit of retail therapy.  Why not do a ‘café crawl’  -  like a pub crawl but with less beer and more cake!

From family-friendly restaurants to intimate bistros to buzzing bars, there is plenty of choice to suit all tastes and all budgets. If you’re lucky you might find locally caught fish on the menu.  Vegans and vegetarians are increasingly catered for with new restaurants opening this year.

Barmouth can also offer a number of  attractive pubs and bars, all of them with great atmosphere, friendly staff, and hearty food.  North Wales is also home to many local breweries producing a range of fine craft ales and spirits - look out for them on the drinks menu.

And if after all that the walk home is too much, book a taxi to take you from door to door.
