Barmouth History Project

The Barmouth History Project opened in St John’s Church in May 2024. The exhibition shares the history of Barmouth through photographs, documents and research gathered by local volunteers. St John’s Church is open seven days a week from 10am to 4pm, and visitors are welcome to call in if they are in the town.

The project is the result of many hours of work by volunteers who set out to document the history of Barmouth. So much material was collected that it was impossible to display everything in the space available. The full research has therefore been compiled into two booklets, one in Welsh and one in English which are available to buy from various shops in Barmouth.
